JOB DESCRIPTION
The University of Florida, College of Dentistry is searching for a Sterile Equipment Technician. This position is responsible for cleaning dental instruments and the preparation of them for sterilization. The incumbent operates and maintains a variety of sterilization equipment. Dispensing clean instruments to dental students and departments, using computer program Axium and the
INFO-DOT
process. Collecting, tracking, and processing dirty instruments according to sterilization protocol. Disinfecting and sterilizing dental instruments for all UFCD dental students and the UFCD dental clinics: Replacing broken or missing instruments for UFCD Dental Students. Recording incoming and outgoing instruments from students and departments. Oiling and maintaining instruments and hand pieces. Maintaining machines and reporting needs for repairs (as needed). Maintaining office supplies inventory. Labeling and scanning with the Axium program. In-service training (updates, new sterilization techniques, and computer classes). Other related duties as assigned.
EXPECTED SALARY
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED
Dental Assistant certification or equivalent training. Ability to prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to plan, organize, and perform work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to pay attention to detail
