In this vital role, you will support dental professionals by preparing treatment areas, sterilizing instruments, and assisting with patient management to ensure smooth clinical operations. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention protocols, including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques Assist hygienists during chairside procedures such as prophys and scaling and root planing Manage patient records accurately using Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Take and develop dental x-rays Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and providing excellent patient care throughout their visit Maintain the cleanliness and organization of dental instruments, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly for daily use Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental equipment enhances your ability to assist effectively in various procedures Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous for managing patient information efficiently Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, oral surgery assistance, endodontics procedures, or prosthodontics will set you apart Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards ensures adherence to safety protocols at all times Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and support clinical workflows in pediatric or general dentistry practices Strong communication skills combined with a professional attitude are essential for collaborating with team members and providing outstanding patient service
