Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for our patients and staff. This position involves the cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of dental instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and regulations. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment using appropriate techniques and materials. Prepare surgical trays and ensure all necessary instruments are available for procedures. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in the implementation of infection control protocols within the clinic. Monitor sterilization equipment for proper functioning and report any malfunctions. Collaborate with dental assistants and receptionists to ensure smooth workflow in the clinic. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area. Stay updated on current best practices in sterilization techniques and infection control. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in areas such as pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or chairside assisting. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and vital signs is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Understanding of medical documentation, medical records management, medical coding, and infection control practices is required. Experience with X-ray procedures and 3D scanners is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow strict aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical imaging techniques.
