Dental Lab Technician IPRO Dental Laboratory - A Rite Smile Company Maspeth, NY Job Details Full-time $21 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Teamwork Restoration Employee relationship building Removable prosthodontics Attention to detail Laboratory techniques Adaptability Time management Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and hands-on Dental Lab Technician with experience in denture repairs, porcelain repairs, removable appliances, and other dental laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate must have practical, hands-on experience performing dental repairs and working with different types of dental restorations and appliances. Experience with denture repairs, porcelain repairs, adjustments, relines, bonding, finishing, and troubleshooting is highly preferred. We are looking for someone who is professional, presentable, reliable, adaptable, and a quick learner. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating with the production team and supporting other areas of the laboratory when required. The technician will be responsible for completing assigned cases accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, precision, fit, function, aesthetics, and turnaround time. Key Responsibilities 1. Dental Repairs & Restoration Perform denture repairs, including cracked, fractured, or broken dentures. Repair and adjust complete and partial dentures. Perform denture relines, rebases, tooth replacements, and adjustments. Repair flippers, retainers, night guards, and other removable dental appliances. Perform porcelain repairs and other restorative repair work as required. Perform bonding, acrylic, composite, and other appropriate repair procedures. Repair and modify dental restorations while maintaining proper fit, function, and aesthetics. Evaluate damaged restorations and determine the appropriate repair technique and materials. Trim, polish, finish, and refine repaired restorations to achieve a high-quality final appearance. Ensure repaired appliances and restorations meet laboratory quality standards before completion. 2. Denture & Removable Appliance Fabrication Fabricate and finish complete and partial dentures. Create flippers and other removable dental appliances. Prepare and accurately trim dental models. Arrange and set teeth for complete and partial dentures. Assist with digitally designed and digitally fabricated dentures. Adjust appliances to achieve proper fit, occlusion, function, and aesthetics. Work with acrylics, resins, composites, porcelain, and other dental materials. Assist with the fabrication and finishing of retainers, night guards, and orthodontic appliances as required. 3. Porcelain & Restorative Work Perform porcelain repairs and finishing procedures. Assist with the repair and customization of crowns, bridges, and other restorations. Perform staining, glazing, polishing, and finishing as required. Provide custom shading and characterization when needed. Ensure repaired restorations are consistent with the original restoration in color, shape, contour, and appearance. Identify imperfections and make appropriate corrections before cases are released. 4. Case Management & Quality Control Review incoming cases and identify required repairs, adjustments, or modifications. Manage assigned cases from receipt through completion. Ensure cases are completed accurately and within required turnaround times. Conduct thorough quality checks before completed cases are released. Verify fit, function, occlusion, aesthetics, and overall quality. Identify potential issues and communicate them promptly to the appropriate team member. Follow laboratory procedures and quality-control standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. 5. Technical Support & Troubleshooting Troubleshoot difficult repair, fabrication, and finishing cases. Determine appropriate repair techniques based on the condition and type of restoration. Work closely with dentists, dental professionals, and internal production teams to understand case requirements. Communicate technical concerns clearly and professionally. Assist the production team with challenging cases and special requests. Provide practical solutions when cases do not meet specifications. Recommend appropriate materials, techniques, and adjustments when required. 6. Client & Team Communication Communicate professionally with dentists, dental offices, and internal team members when required. Understand and accurately follow client specifications. Provide updates regarding cases, repairs, and technical concerns when necessary. Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and colleagues. Represent the company in a professional and presentable manner. Maintain a courteous and professional attitude when interacting with clients and team members. 7. Additional Laboratory Responsibilities Be willing to assist with other dental laboratory tasks and responsibilities as required by business needs. Support different areas of the laboratory based on workload and priorities. Be willing to learn new techniques, equipment, materials, and processes. Take on additional duties and projects as assigned by management. Maintain a flexible and team-oriented approach and assist colleagues when needed. Perform other related duties as reasonably assigned. Qualifications Proven hands-on experience as a Dental Lab Technician. Strong practical experience in denture repairs. Experience with porcelain repairs and restorative repairs is highly preferred. Experience working with complete and partial dentures, flippers, retainers, night guards, and other removable appliances. Strong knowledge of dental materials, laboratory equipment, and fabrication and repair techniques. Ability to troubleshoot dental laboratory cases and determine appropriate repair methods. Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail. Ability to work with both traditional laboratory techniques and digital dental technologies. Strong understanding of setup, processing, finishing, and repair procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the production team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional and presentable appearance and demeanor. Quick learner with the ability to learn new techniques, equipment, materials, and procedures quickly. Willingness to take on additional laboratory tasks as required. Ability to adapt to changin g priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to quality, accuracy, and meeting required turnaround times. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be someone who: Has strong hands-on experience in dental repairs, particularly denture repairs. Has experience with porcelain and restorative repairs.
