Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities Assist with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Support clinical staff with chairside assisting during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare treatment rooms by setting up dental equipment, ensuring all tools and materials are sterile and ready for use. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to safety protocols for radiation exposure and medical imaging standards. Assist in patient management by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and providing excellent patient care throughout their visit. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection prevention management policies and dental sterilization procedures consistently. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and answering patient inquiries professionally. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with dental x-ray equipment, medical imaging techniques, and dental instrument processing is advantageous. Knowledge of EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential for efficient patient record management. Understanding of infection control protocols including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention is required. Experience with pediatric dentistry or oral surgery procedures is a plus but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices will help ensure high-quality patient care. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment using four-handed dentistry techniques is desirable.
