Full Job Description Job Summary:
Dental Lab Technician The Dental Lab Technician works in the dental lab in the process of fabricating dental prosthetics as ordered by the provider. This position is for a progressive dental lab with a high volume of implant retained dentures. Duties and Responsibilities Creates accurate models or prosthetics as ordered by the provider from the digital scan or dental impressions provided. Fabricates implant retained prosthetics, removable dentures, partials, crowns, bridges, occlusal guards, etc. as ordered by the provider. Correct irregularities, when possible, to achieve the proper outcome. Participates in try in and shade match with provider and patient as needed. Complete assigned tasks by the due date ordered by the provider. Keep the lab stocked with necessary supplies. Clean and disinfect all dental impressions, equipment, and working surfaces to the required standards. Keep the lab areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy, and sterile as appropriate according to health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order. Be familiar and comply with all OSHA Health and Safety rules and guidance infection control and ensure safe disposal of sharps and clinical waste. Complete laboratory forms and/or perform other applicable lab duties as assigned. Deliver or ship cases as needed. Assist other members of the team as needed. Other tasks as assigned during production downtime. Required Skills and Abilities A good understanding of digital lab techniques, dental materials, and equipment required Excellent manual dexterity Strong attention to detail Professional and punctual Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills required and proficiency in MS products a plus Education and Experience Highschool diploma required. Dental Lab Tech Certification or prior equivalent experience Additional clinical certifications and/or expanded functions preferred Physical Requirements Ability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer or other desktop equipment. Ability to move within the lab as needed for fabrication, cleaning, and meetings. Ability to lift to 0-25 pounds if necessary.
