In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, processing dental instruments, and assisting with various dental procedures across general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure our clinic operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently while adhering to all infection control protocols and clinical confidentiality policies. Responsibilities Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management procedures, including aseptic techniques and dental sterilization protocols. Assist dentists during chairside procedures by handing instruments, managing dental materials, and ensuring patient comfort through effective communication. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate medical imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records accurately. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient inquiries, and coordinating with the dental receptionist to streamline clinic operations. Ensure all dental equipment is functioning properly, perform routine maintenance checks, and assist in the setup of specialized tools for procedures like oral surgery or prosthodontics. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and clinical confidentiality policies. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Proficiency in dental x-ray techniques, including taking intraoral and extraoral images while adhering to radiation safety standards. Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, endodontic tools, prosthodontic devices, and other clinical instruments effectively. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment; experience supporting pediatric dentistry or oral surgery is advantageous. Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing preferred; ongoing training in medical coding or medical documentation is beneficial.
