Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Saturday Oral Surgery Assistant to support our oral surgery team. This position will be two Saturdays per month. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with particular expertise in oral surgery procedures, infection prevention, and patient management. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic practice committed to excellence in patient care and clinical safety. Duties Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing and passing dental instruments and materials efficiently. Ensure proper sterilization and processing of dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to radiation safety standards. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and preparing them for procedures. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to ensure patient safety throughout treatment. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient information within electronic medical record (EMR) . Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including managing dental equipment and ensuring a sterile environment for all procedures. Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting, Prior oral surgery experience is a bonus Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software for managing patient records. Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures in a clinical setting. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to oral surgery. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional attitude focused on patient care and team collaboration. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; additional training in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is a plus.
