Do you enjoy working with your hands and creating things with precision and care? Are you the kind of person who takes pride in detail — the kind who notices the little things others miss? If so, we'd like to meet you. D&S Dental Laboratory is looking for a detail-oriented Dental Technician - Fixed Model Room to join our team in Waunakee, WI. In this role, you'll create and prepare dental models from impressions for fixed prosthetics — pouring, trimming, and articulating models that form the foundation of every fixed case we fabricate. What You'll Do As our Fixed Model Room Technician, you'll help restore smiles by: Reading and interpreting the prescription included with each case and preparing models to match doctors' written orders and specifications Pouring, trimming, sectioning, and articulating stone models from patient impressions with accuracy and consistency Fabricating models of the mouth and teeth based on impressions taken by dental professionals Following the daily case schedule and production goals to keep cases moving on time Operating hand tools and lab equipment, including electric drills, lathes, presses, high-heat furnaces, sandblasters, grinders, and carvers Collaborating with quality control specialists to uphold product standards and identify cases that need extra attention Using supplies and equipment efficiently while keeping work areas and materials ready to go What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on, detailed work and takes ownership of what they produce. You may be a great fit if you have experience in: Dental laboratory work, particularly fixed prosthetics Dental technology or a related healthcare field Any trade or role requiring fine motor skills and precision handling of small tools and materials You don't need to be an expert in everything. We're looking for someone with strong hand-eye coordination, a willingness to learn, and the consistency to produce accurate work in a fast-paced production environment.
Requirements:
Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Demonstrated hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills Experience with tasks requiring manual dexterity and precision handling of small tools and materials Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines Strong communication skills, including written communication Ability to work well with colleagues, managers, and other departments Preferred Previous experience in a dental laboratory environment, particularly in fixed prosthetics Background in dental technology or related healthcare fields Basic technology skills, including MS Office Suite Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner Physical Requirements & Work Environment Standing and bending for 8+ hours; lifting, pushing, and carrying up to 50 lbs Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements, including pinching and grasping, and use of hand tools with vibration Visual acuity to judge the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of your work Lab setting with hand tools; PPE provided and required for applicable tasks Exposure to dust and airborne particles, noise, and vibration typical of a dental lab Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass work eligibility requirements Apply today and help D&S Dental Laboratory keep every fixed case at its best.
