Faculty 12 Job Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Dentistry, is accepting nominations and applications for a full-time faculty position, in the Department of Orthodontics. The University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Dentistry seeks faculty candidates with a demonstrated record of didactic or clinical teaching in orthodontics and/or research in patient oriented or oral biological research discipline. Candidate is expected to develop a research program in clinical or biological research and will have an opportunity to participate in the department's teaching and clinical mission. The ideal candidate would have current research funding. Opportunities exist for Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor ranks. Academic rank, salary, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply online. Required Qualifications Qualified candidates must have a DDS/DMD or equivalent degree, be board certified (or board eligible) and be licensed or eligible for licensure by the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama. Candidates are expected to acquire external research funding over time and demonstrate a strong background in program administration, teaching and creativity in research and scholarship. Consideration of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
