Full Job Description Description:
Expand care to underserved families of the High Desert. We are seeking at part-time DENTIST to render exemplar patient care in a mobile clinic setting caring for underserved families of the High Desert. The dentist will provide a range of services to our patients, assessing their oral health, performing cleanings, procedures, educating patients promoting better oral hygiene and health, and screening patients for risk of HIV exposure. Join our growing clinics, focused on giving back to the community, and meaningful work for you. We are a team-based collaborative community ambulatory practice, with locations in Apple Valley, Adelanto, Hesperia and in Orange County. We believe that all should have access to high quality health and dental care, regardless of ability to pay. Our dental practice is housed within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), allowing dentists to refer patients to medical or behavioral health services for wrap around care. Pay Range:

Requirements:
Essential Functions:
Responsible for providing general dental professional services for the St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers. Insures a high level of patient and family satisfaction with services. Meets with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, perform regular cleanings, preventative and restorative procedures. Screens patients for HIV Risks and HIV. Applies helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants and fluoride. Prescribes medications for dental problems, such as antibiotics. Gives patients sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering treatments. Ordering diagnostic measures, such as x-rays, models, etc. Uses tools, such as drills, probes, brushes, or mirrors, to examine and treat teeth and mouth. Maintains complete and accurate records of care provided, submits charges in a timely manner and reflective of care delivered. Managing and communicating with other staff members to provide care to patients. Provides professional oversight and training for dental assistants. Participates in dental quality initiatives and chart reviews. Meets established clinic productivity standards. Ensures adequate coverage of dental clinics with other clinic dentists. Minimum Position Qualifications:
Demonstrated interpersonal/cultural sensitivity to work with a diverse and underserved populations.
Education:
Graduate of U.S.-accredited Dental school
License/ Certifications:
Current California State Dental license and DEA number;
BLS/ CPR
certification.
Experience:
Minimum two years of general dentistry Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, tools, diagnostics, and standard practices Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications Ability to comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding dental and health care Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to keep accurate, detailed, and HIPAA compliant dental records.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Bilingual in Spanish & English - Strongly Preferred Experience in community healthcare setting
