Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our dynamic dental team. This vital role involves performing complex surgical procedures related to the mouth, jaw, and face, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert care and precise surgical techniques. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive oral and maxillofacial examinations, including patient assessment and diagnosis using advanced medical imaging techniques. Perform surgical procedures such as dental extractions, implant placements, jaw surgeries, cyst removals, and other complex oral surgeries with precision and care. Collaborate with general dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontists, and other specialists to develop integrated treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient health information and maintain a sterile environment. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including detailed medical records, dental terminology, and procedural notes in compliance with legal standards. Utilize dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, record-keeping, and treatment documentation. Educate patients on post-operative care instructions, potential risks, and treatment options to foster informed decision-making. Requirements Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution with specialized training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Valid licensure to practice as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the respective jurisdiction. Proven experience in oral surgery procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry when applicable. Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs comprehensively and deliver compassionate treatment. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with pediatric patients is a plus. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently for optimal patient comfort and workflow productivity. Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and ensuring confidentiality of all medical records.
