And who enjoys being part of a team that cares for each other and where each member is willing to do their best, and so be able to expect the best, for one another. Responsibilities Know each patient well through patient assessment and medical history review Provide hands-on (fun and friendly) oral hygiene and preventive care education using stuffed animal models and real toothbrushes and floss, and answer questions along with the dental team that patients and parents may have Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and coronal polishing, utilizing best behavioral managment strategies to provide the best possible experience for patients and their parents Use excellent practive managment software and imaging software and equipment to aid in effective, efficient and comprehensive diagnoosis, treatment planning, and treatment for the patient Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry Implement aseptic techniques to ensure the safest environment possible for patients and team members in the operatory, sterilization area, supply area, and other accessible office areas Maintain all regulatory standards necessary for the highest level of patient care and safety, as well as for all members of the dental team Stay updated on pediatric dentistry and hygiene advancements and participate in continuing education opportunities. Requirements Valid dental hygiene license in the state of Massachusetts Experience working with pediatric patients and knowledgeable with behavioral management modalities Eagerness to continue to improve on all that they know already about oral health, pediatric and adolescent dental anatomy, and general dentistry principles Excellent commnication skills and the ability to engage of children of all ages and their parents and/or guardians Excellent computer skills and working with Google-based forms and web applications on desktops and tablets Strong attention to detail and commitment to the vision and mission of our dental office Desire to work in a caring team-oriented environment where each team member looks out for each other and is willing to go to their full ability, and so be able to expect that from each other.
