Job Description
School of Dentistry - OMFS Adjunct Faculty Details The University of Utah School of Dentistry (UUSOD) seeks qualified candidates for a faculty position in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), working approximately 1-2 days per week (0.2 - 0.4 FTE) . The UUSOD is committed to excellence in education, patient care, and service to underserved populations across Utah. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Didactic, simulation, and clinical teaching Work collaboratively with all UUSOD sections, including pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral pathology, general dentistry, and periodontics Minimum Qualifications Possess a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree and be eligible for an unrestricted dental license in Utah. Requirements for a Utah dental license are found on DOPL . Completion of an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program Preferred Qualifications Background in teaching or higher education Background in clinical practice The school fosters a humanistic, evidence-based approach to education and patient care. We are looking for applicants who will educate and mentor dental students to be technically proficient in all aspects of primary oral health care and who can serve as role models for the compassionate and ethical care of patients. We also seek individuals whose drive and intellectual curiosity help advance research that leads to new therapeutics for oral health care. We seek applicants with insights and vision for partnering with other primary healthcare professionals to improve oral and overall health for patients.
