Full Job Description Function:
- The dialysis biomedical supervisor is responsible for supervising and overseeing the overall operations of the biomedical department to include installation, maintenance and repair of all water treatment equipment, all medical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Responsible for overseeing the facility plant maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with water treatment systems, and medical equipment, and dialysis facility.
Accountability:
Reports to the Chief Operation Officer.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred, not required).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a dialysis biomedical technician (preferred, not required).
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience (preferred, not required)
- Successful completion of Training Courses for Equipment and Water Systems (preferred, not required)
- Confirmation of ability to distinguish all primary colors.
- Valid state issued driver's license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures equipment installation, maintenance, and repair is done according to manufacturer's guidelines, AAMI standards, CMS and other regulatory standards. This includes water treatment systems and components, dialysis machines, reuses equipment, and other equipment used in the dialysis facilities. Responsible for ensuring training and supervision of biomedical technicians, biomedical technician assistants, and other staff members assigned to the biomedical department. Assist in training of clinical staff on water treatment systems and medical equipment. Responsible for ensuring proper documentation and recording keeping as required. Assist in reviewing, writing, and updating of the technical policies and procedures. Responsible for maintaining and coordinating inventory and stock for dialysis supplies and equipment spare parts. Assure physical plant and dialysis environment is in good repair.
