Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dialysis procedures, physiology, and medical terminology, with a commitment to providing compassionate patient care. As a vital member of the dialysis unit, the PCT will assist in delivering safe, effective treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Duties Prepare patients for dialysis treatments by verifying identity, reviewing medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly. Assist with setting up dialysis machines, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Monitor patients during treatment, observing vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being; report any concerns promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of patient data, treatment details, and observations in compliance with healthcare regulations. Support infection control protocols by practicing strict aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment. Educate patients on dialysis procedures, post-treatment care, and lifestyle adjustments to promote health and compliance. Assist with equipment maintenance, inventory management of supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of treatment areas. Experience Prior experience working in dialysis or a related clinical setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy relevant to renal function and dialysis treatment. Familiarity with medical terminology used within nephrology and patient care contexts. Demonstrated understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain sterile procedures during treatments. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care. Certification as a Patient Care Technician or similar credential is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Pay:

$20.23 - $26.00 per hour
