Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Prepares meals according to the menus and for therapeutic diets; follows recipes and prepares proper amounts as listed on the production sheets; utilizes proper portion control in preparation and serving of food; monitors methods of food handling to include maintaining temperatures of hot and cold food; cleans work area; completes weekly cleaning assignments and washes pots, pans and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND DEMANDS OF THE POSITION
1. Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions. 2. Must be able to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments. 3. Must be able to work under time constraints and be able to work rapidly and efficiently. 4. This job will required continuous movement throughout the day to include walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying and manipulating various food products, dietary supplies and equipment. 5. Must be cooperative and willing to work with other personnel in dietary as well as other departments. 6. Must have a genuine interest in preparing attractive and palatable foods. 7. Must have good personal hygiene at all times.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES
1. Responsible for handling and preparing food in accordance with proper sanitary practices. 2. Will follow standardized recipes and prepare food that is both appetizing and palatable. Must be able to prepare food in large quantities. 3. Will prepare the proper quantity of food to prevent shortage or waste. 4. Will keep the work area clean and sanitary and will assist with other routine cleaning as needed. 5. Will prepare nutritional snacks as needed. 6. Will supervise other dietary staff in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor. 7. Will attend regular in-service education as scheduled. 8. Will perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. 9. Will follow safety procedures while performing all duties. 1 Weekend A Month 10AM - 6:30PM Mon -
