Job Description

Barfield Health Care is seeking a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Dietary Aide for our second shift (11:30 am - 7:30 pm) dietary services team. The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation of nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in accordance with approved menus, specialty diets, food safety standards, and regulations. The ideal candidate is committed to providing quality service while helping create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of meals in accordance with planned menus. Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures. Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus. Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders. Ensure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray. Review restrictions and prepare meals in accordance with established guidelines for the restrictions. Prepare and serve substitute food items in accordance with established menus. Ensure that food is prepared in accordance with sanitary regulations, policies, and procedures. Follow established infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks. Assist with daily scheduled cleaning duties. Assist in maintaining food storage areas in clean and properly arranged manner. Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies. Assist with inventorying and storage of incoming food, supplies, etc. as necessary.
Preferred Experience:
1 year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility (preferred, but not necessary).
