Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team in providing high-quality meals for residents in an assisted living or nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong understanding of dietary needs and food safety protocols. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals that cater to their dietary restrictions and preferences. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards, including proper sanitation and food handling practices. Assist in menu planning, taking into consideration the nutritional needs of residents. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and in good working condition. Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary requests or restrictions. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food safety protocols. Experience Previous experience as a cook in the food industry, preferably within an assisted living or nursing home setting. Knowledge of dietetics, including understanding special diets and nutritional requirements for various health conditions. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for sanitation and food handling. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and residents.
