Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support the dietary department by assisting with meal preparation, food service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure our residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals in a safe and welcoming environment. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with geriatric patients, providing compassionate service while adhering to strict dietary requirements and safety protocols. Responsibilities Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident needs Serve meals to residents, ensuring proper portioning and presentation while respecting individual dietary restrictions Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food storage spaces following food safety standards such as JCAHO regulations Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers, while adhering to workplace safety protocols Support the dietary team in manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and proper safe lifting practices Follow all food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels, rotating supplies, and reporting shortages or issues Will bus dirty dishes to kitchen for cleaning Will assist cook in washing and drying of all dishes/utensils Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and serving techniques Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric patients or those with special nutritional needs Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods Must have a
