Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a full-time Dietary Aide/Cook, where your culinary skills and compassion will directly enhance the well-being of our residents. In this vital role, you will prepare nutritious, appealing meals tailored to individual dietary needs, assist with food service operations, and maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. Your energy and attention to detail will ensure residents receive high-quality nutrition in a warm, welcoming setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine culinary expertise with compassionate care in a dynamic healthcare environment. Duties Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, dietary guidelines, and individual resident requirements, ensuring nutritional value and presentation standards are met. Assist with food production tasks such as chopping, portioning, plating, and packaging food items efficiently and accurately. Serve meals to residents in accordance with their dietary restrictions and preferences, maintaining excellent customer service standards. Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure a hygienic kitchen environment. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, mixers, dishwashers, and other culinary tools. Manage manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Follow all dietary department policies related to assisting residents with meals, respecting their dignity and individual needs while working with geriatric patients or those in assisted living or nursing home settings. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of food production, meal preparation, sanitation practices, and food handling safety standards such as JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) guidelines. Experience working with geriatric populations or individuals with special dietary requirements is advantageous. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is essential. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Basic math skills for accurate portioning and inventory management. Customer service experience that emphasizes respectful communication and compassionate care for residents' needs. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 29.0 - 40.0 per week
