Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dietary Supervisor to lead our food service operations within an Skilled Nursing environment. In this vital role, The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dietary department in a skilled nursing facility. This position ensures that residents receive safe, nutritious, appealing, and appropriately prepared meals in accordance with physician orders, individual dietary needs, facility policies, and applicable federal and state regulations. The Dietary Supervisor provides leadership to dietary staff, coordinates meal service, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, monitors inventory and supplies, and works closely with nursing, dietary, and clinical teams to support resident health and satisfaction. Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of dietary and food service staff. Prepare and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all meal periods and shifts. Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served according to approved menus and resident-specific dietary requirements. Verify therapeutic diets, food allergies, texture modifications, and other special dietary needs. Coordinate with nursing staff and the Registered Dietitian regarding residents' nutritional needs and dietary changes. Monitor food preparation, portion control, presentation, and meal temperatures. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and environmental health requirements. Train, orient, and evaluate dietary employees according to facility policies. Maintain accurate records related to meal service, temperatures, sanitation, inventory, and staff training. Monitor food, supplies, and equipment inventory and assist with ordering as needed. Minimize food waste while maintaining appropriate food quality and resident satisfaction. Inspect kitchen, dining areas, food storage areas, and equipment for cleanliness and safety. Ensure proper storage, labeling, dating, and rotation of food products. Address resident concerns regarding meals, preferences, and dining services in a timely and professional manner. Participate in facility surveys, audits, quality-assurance activities, and performance-improvement initiatives. Report equipment problems, food safety concerns, staffing issues, and other departmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Ensure dietary staff follow facility policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Promote respectful, courteous, and person-centered service to all residents. Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator, Director of Nursing, or other designated supervisor. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in dietary, food service, healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing preferred. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices. ServSafe or applicable food-handler certification preferred or required according to state regulations. Ability to understand and follow therapeutic diets and resident-specific dietary requirements. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, dietary staff, physicians, Registered Dietitians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Pay:

$37.00 - $41.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
