BASIC FUNCTION

Set up and serve meals to residents in the St. Paul's Manor in an expeditious and courteous manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sets up tray service (dishes, flatware, glasses, etc) and carts for the residents. Portions out desserts, salads, soup and cereals for each resident diet. Serves hot and cold foods while adhering to portion controls and diet modifications. Transports carts to and from the Manor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to communicate with, be interested in, and have compassion for the elderly. Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, in the English language. Must be able to read menus. Should have good organizational skills to meet deadlines and goals. Needs to have the ability to work in a team environment both in dietary and the overall health care team. Must be able to maintain professional composure under stressful conditions and situations

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Completion of a high school or GED equivalency. Ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language. One year of food service experience as a diet aide, preferably in senior living/health center or institutional food service department St.
