ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Report department supply and equipment needs to the Certified Dietary Manager and/or the Registered Dietitian. Ensure that tables are stocked and prepared for each meal service. Ensure beverage machines are operational and filled before breakfast and supper. Assist residents who come to dining room in between meals and offer food and drinks as desired and per physician's orders. Assist residents with the set up of their meals as needed and with regard to infection control standards, i.e., cutting their food, seasoning with condiments, opening packaging, etc. Take residents' meal orders and provide water and other beverages of choice as they arrive in the dining room for meals. Record meal intake percentages for each resident after each meal. Clean and sanitize every table after each use and after all the residents have left the table. Take and record milk, refrigerator and freezer temperatures at the start of each shift. Ensure the dining room is continually cleaned and stocked with supplies for meal service. Communicate with nursing staff if a resident has not arrived for their meal, and deliver them a room tray if necessary. Ensure clothing protectors and napkins are taken to laundry and picked up from laundry, so residents have them for use during meals. Offer a variety of choices and honor personal preferences as allowed during meals. Offer other options if resident is not eating or does not like their meal. Report residents who are not eating or having difficulty eating to nursing personnel and/or the Registered Dietitian. Report appropriate information to the Certified Dietary Manager and/or the Registered Dietitian regarding existing problems or the potential for problems. Models and promotes person centered care, and actively participates in neighborhood meetings and activities.

$15.16 per hour
