Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide and play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality nutritional care to our residents. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist in meal preparation, food service, and sanitation efforts within a vibrant healthcare environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure that residents receive delicious, nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs while maintaining a safe and welcoming dining atmosphere. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness in compliance with food safety standards such as JCAHO regulations Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices and manual handling protocols Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and maintaining sanitation standards Follow prescribed dietary requirements for residents, including special diets for medical or personal needs Manage time effectively to ensure timely meal service and proper food storage Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly during all food handling and cleaning tasks Collaborate with nursing staff to accommodate specific dietary restrictions and assist with feeding residents when needed Maintain accurate documentation related to food service activities and adhere to workplace safety policies Experience Candidates should possess prior experience in food production or food service environments, ideally within assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry. Experience working with geriatric patients or in dietary departments is highly valued. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment, meal preparation techniques, and sanitation procedures is essential. Strong time management skills are necessary to coordinate meal services efficiently. Basic math skills are required for portioning and inventory management. Certification in CPR and knowledge of safe lifting practices are preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided. A background in dietetics or culinary experience will support your success in this role. Prior experience adhering to dietary requirements and working within healthcare standards ensures you're prepared to meet the unique needs of our residents while maintaining a safe, clean environment.
