Dietary Aide Job Summary:
A Dietary Aide assists in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for residents in a nursing home. The role focuses on ensuring residents receive nutritious, safe, and properly prepared meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, physician orders, and state health regulations.

K Retirement Plan Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and portion food items according to menus and dietary plans Serve meals and beverages to residents, including those with special dietary needs (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, pureed diets) Assist residents who may need help eating (in some facilities) Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment Wash dishes, utensils, and food prep areas Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines (per Florida health standards) Store food properly and monitor temperatures Work with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet residents' nutritional needs Report any issues with food quality or resident intake
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (often preferred, not always required) Food handler certification (may be required in Florida or provided on the job) Ability to follow instructions and dietary guidelines Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light to moderate weight
Skills:
Attention to detail Time management Teamwork Communication skills Compassion and patience (especially when working with elderly residents)
Work Environment:
