Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation and food production, ensuring all dietary requirements are met accurately and efficiently. Serve meals to residents with professionalism, kindness, and attention to individual needs. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining rooms, and food storage spaces in accordance with food safety standards. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and managing proper food handling procedures. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to workplace safety protocols including PPE use and manual handling practices. Follow prescribed dietary guidelines for residents, including special diets for medical or personal needs. Support inventory management by assisting with stock rotation, storage, and proper disposal of expired or spoiled items. Skills Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and safe lifting techniques. Ability to work efficiently with culinary tools and kitchen equipment while maintaining a focus on safety. Excellent time management skills to handle meal service schedules promptly. Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric patients or those with special medical needs. Basic math skills for portion control and inventory management. Exceptional customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents' comfort and dignity.
