As a key member of our food service team, you will assist with the service and delivery of food trays to designated areas, clean the kitchen, and maintain a safe and sanitary environment. Responsibilities Serve meals in accordance with established portion control procedures Ensure meals are appetizing and palatable in appearance Assist with daily cleaning duties, including work tables, meat blocks, and refrigerators/freezers Sweep and mop floors as directed Wash and clean utensils, dishes, and cooking items according to established policies Carry out garbage and keep the work area clean, dry, and free of hazards Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms as instructed Collect and distribute menus as instructed Assist with checking dietary trays before distribution and delivering food carts to designated areas Remove food carts and trays from dining rooms to the dishwashing area for cleaning Requirements High school diploma or GED Preferred experience working with the elderly and food service Working Conditions Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and/or conditions Must be able to follow oral and written instructions Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties Must be able to pass level 2 fingerprinting with an Eligible status.
