GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
. The Dietary Aid performs routine food service tasks including meal preparation, meal serving/delivery, and clean-up.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for: Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs Confidentiality of all data including resident, employee and operations data Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior Supports and participates in common teamwork: Cooperates and works together with all co-workers Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned Ability to successfully pass a background screening through the AHCA Clearinghouse (For more information on the Clearinghouse, please visit: info.flclearinghouse.com)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Prepare items needed for meal service including beverages, silverware, trays, condiments, breads, etc. Serve meal items according to menu's provided using correct portion control utensils. Prepare meal carts according to lists provided. Set trays, call tickets, serve or pull carts to correct area. Remove food carts from dining rooms, etc. and transport to washing area. Dispose of garbage and trash to keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous items. Report disrepair of kitchen and dietary appliances, equipment, etc. immediately to supervisor. Reset stations, juice carts to be ready for next meal. Must be knowledgeable in sanitation, temperature logs and reading menu's. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
. Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
COMPUTER SKILLS
None
REASONING ABILITY
. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
