Job Description

TITLE:
Dietary Aide
REPORTS TO
Dietary Manager Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The primary purpose of the position is to prepare food as designated and serve meals to residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility and as may be directed by the Dietary Manager. ROLE and
RESPONSIBILITIES
. Prepare meals in accordance with standardized menu (recipes, portions, and special diets). Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Assist cook in preparing meals as necessary. Assist in checking diet trays and carts before distribution. 5. Follow all safety, infection control, and universal precaution policies and procedures when preparing food, cleaning equipment, and performing other daily tasks. 6. Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Dietary Manager immediately. 7. Assist in maintaining food storage areas, freezer, and cooler in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
Highly focused and strong attention to detail. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or GED. 2. Previous cooking experience in a senior living environment preferred. 3. Food Handling License, Serve Safe Certification a plus.
