Job Description

Job title: Dietary Aide (Sun to Thurs, 2nd Shift)
Location:
Front Porch of Bowdon, Bowdon, GA Pay:
starting at $12.00 per hour
Schedule:
32+ hours a week. Primarily Sunday through Thursday, 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Some flexibility as coverage requires. Front Porch of Bowdon is a growing personal care home with 30 residents and counting. One house, not a campus. The owner is a licensed nurse and is here. Our residents eat every meal at home with us, which means the kitchen is not a side department. It is three of the best parts of somebody's day, every day, and we treat it that way. We are hiring a Dietary Aide for evenings, Sunday through Thursday, but some flexibility can be accommodated. What is different about this kitchen right now We spent this year building the things that let a person do this job well instead of guessing at it, and they are in place before you walk in: You will work for a culinary chef Dietary Manager who runs the kitchen, sets the schedule, and trains you. You are not figuring it out alone. Every resident's diet, texture, and allergies are written down in our system and available to you at service. Not in somebody's head, not on a sticky note. Your shift has a checklist that tells you what this shift needs, and you sign off on what you did. Temperatures and cleaning tasks are logged in the same place. When the health inspector asks, the answer exists. We plate to a sheet, off a four week menu cycle, so the food goes out the same way every time. What you will do Set up, plate, and serve dinner and evening snack to the plating sheet for the day Follow each resident's diet, texture, and allergy record exactly as written Serve in the dining room and deliver trays to residents who eat in their rooms Record what residents actually ate and pass along appetite changes to care staff Wash dishes and clean and reset the kitchen and dining room after service Take and log food, cooler, and freezer temperatures, and complete the cleaning tasks on the shift checklist Help receive deliveries, rotate stock, and date and label what comes in Write the shift handoff before you leave What we are looking for Reliable. This is the shift that puts dinner on the table. If you are not here, residents wait. Able to read a written diet order and follow it exactly, and comfortable asking when something is unclear Steady on your feet for a six hour shift, and able to lift and carry up to about 50 pounds Respectful with older adults, including residents with dementia who may be confused, repetitive, or resistant Kitchen or food service experience preferred. Senior living or healthcare dietary experience is a real plus, but we will train the right person. Employment is contingent on a satisfactory background check and fingerprinting, a negative TB test, current CPR certification, proof of eligibility to work in the United States, and completing our new hire onboarding. Front Porch of Bowdon is an equal opportunity employer.
