Job Description

Dietary Aide Reports to:
Dietary Manager Location:
Heartland Care Center
POSITION SUMMARY
The dietary aide helps open up the kitchen with the morning cook, assembles/operates the dish machine, prepares diet order sheets for residents, answers resident food orders, and delivers trays to resident rooms. He/She is responsible for restocking and organizing supplies in the kitchen and other areas of the care center. The afternoon aide helps the morning aide with answering the phone, delivering resident trays, setting up care center meetings, washing and putting away dishes, serving in the cafeteria, disassembling the dish machine, and restocking kitchen supplies as well as stocking other areas of the care center.
Anticipated Schedule:
Need to be able to work both day and evening shifts and every other weekend.

High School Diploma or GED License/Registration/Certification:
Required:
ServSafe™ certified OR to be obtained upon training
Experience:
Preferred:
Experience in the foodservice industry
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required Highly developed problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Time management skills Attention to detail Ability to perform in a face paced environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Answers resident phone orders. Works with different diets based on the resident's dietary needs. Assembles resident trays according to menu selection and diet using proper portion control. Makes deliveries of meals, snacks and supplements for residents and/or hospital meetings. Restocks kitchen items and areas that dietary supplies throughout the hospital. Ensures proper temperature logs for freezers and refrigerators that dietary supply. Assembles hospital meeting meals and tableware. Cleans, mops, washes dishes, puts away dishes. Assists with truck inventory.
