Full-Time A skilled nursing facility in the Oak Park/Berwyn area is seeking an experienced and dependable Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary department. The ideal candidate will be organized, hands-on, and committed to providing nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining compliance with all applicable healthcare and food-safety regulations. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the dietary department. Supervise, schedule, train, and support dietary staff. Ensure meals are prepared and served according to resident preferences, physician orders, and therapeutic diet requirements. Work closely with the Registered Dietitian, nursing department, and facility leadership. Monitor food quality, meal presentation, portion sizes, and resident satisfaction. Maintain proper sanitation, food-storage, and infection-control standards. Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, and department expenses. Maintain accurate dietary records, menus, temperature logs, and compliance documentation. Participate in resident care-plan meetings and facility surveys. Ensure compliance with IDPH, CMS, OSHA, and local food-safety requirements. Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally. Qualifications Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required. Certified Food Protection Professional credential preferred or required as applicable. Previous dietary management experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of therapeutic diets, sanitation standards, and healthcare regulations. Strong leadership, communication, scheduling, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, employees, and department leaders. Must be able to pass all required background checks and health screenings.
