The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service and dietary support, with experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. Duties Assist with food preparation and meal service, ensuring adherence to specific dietary needs and restrictions. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and serving utensils. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food preparation areas in compliance with health regulations such as JCAHO standards. Handle food safely, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices to prevent contamination. Support meal delivery by bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for residents. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or assisting with manual handling tasks to prevent injury. Adhere to workplace safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during food handling and cleaning activities. Collaborate with nursing staff and dietary team to meet individual nutritional needs of residents, including those with special diets or medical conditions. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of food supplies and reporting shortages promptly. Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication, reliability, and professionalism. Qualifications Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and sanitation standards required for healthcare environments. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting. Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs is preferred. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing portion sizes accurately. Excellent customer service skills with a respectful approach towards residents and team members. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is an advantage; training can be provided if necessary. Understanding of workplace safety practices related to manual handling, heavy lifting, and proper use of PPE. Prior dietary aide or dietetics experience is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
