Job Summary:

The Culinary Aide assists in the preparation, service, and cleanup of meals for residents in accordance with established policies, procedures, and dietary guidelines. This role supports the Culinary Supervisor and Culinary Cook to ensure residents receive nutritious, appealing, and safe meals while maintaining a clean and sanitary food service environment. Qualifications are listed below.

Education:

High school diploma or GED minimum preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience in food service, preferably in healthcare or long-term care, is helpful but not required.

Job Knowledge:

Ability to read and follow menus, diet cards, and written instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Work area and environment : Office, kitchen, freezers, refrigerators, loading dock, dining room, resident's rooms, and throughout the skilled nursing facility. Frequent exposure to hot surfaces, cleaning chemicals, and noise

Responsibilities:

Assist with meal preparation and plating under the direction of the Cook or Culinary Supervisor. Serve meals to residents in the dining room or deliver trays to resident rooms as assigned. Ensure all meals and snacks are prepared and served according to prescribed diets and portion control guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization in food preparation and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans; sanitize work surfaces and equipment. S Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals. Stock food, beverages, and supplies in accordance with storage and safety regulations. Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times. Report any concerns regarding resident meal preferences, allergies, or dietary restrictions to the Culinary Supervisor. Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed. Participate in departmental meetings and staff training.

Physical Requirements:

The Culinary Aide must perform all physical tasks (including lifting 25 pounds) required in normal, irregular or emergency operations to keep the facility running efficiently, ensuring at all times that residents receive excellent quality care

Pay:

$10.00 per hour
