Responsibilities:

1. Must be able to prepare all food items required by the menu according to standardized recipes and presented by the dietician. 2. Must coordinate food production activities of the department in a manner to assure safe, timely, nutritious and appetizing provision of meals to meet the resident's nutritional needs. 3. Trains staff on correct method of performing all job duties. 4. Performs duties of any dietary employee as required due to staff shortage or emergency. 5. Monitors and assists staff in maintaining acceptable sanitary conditions in the department. 6. Assures service of trays according to residents' current diet orders. 7. Prepares and monitors cleaning schedule and staff work schedule, as assigned. 8. Executes duties under direction and supervision of dietary manager and helps maintain the dietary department according to regulations and company policies/procedures. 9. Takes an interest in providing adequate nutritional care to all residents. 10. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with all facility staff as applicable. 11. Supervises all non-clinical activities of the dietary department in absence of dietary manager. 12. Monitors appropriate documentation of all requirement temperature and chemical logs. 13. Performs other duties as assigned.
