Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Culinary Aide/Cook to support our residents' daily living needs and contribute to a warm, welcoming environment! This role combines essential service functions with culinary support, ensuring residents receive attentive care and nutritious meals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living, food production, and food service, along with excellent interpersonal skills. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives while developing valuable experience in healthcare and culinary operations. Duties- Culinary Aide / Cook Prepare, portion, and serve nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining spaces, and food handling equipment to ensure compliance with health regulations. Support food production tasks including cooking, baking, and assembling meals while adhering to proper food handling procedures. Monitor residents' dietary needs and preferences, communicating any special requirements to the culinary team or nursing staff. Follow safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and resident assistance to ensure a safe environment for all. Cut items for salad bar according to list provided. Refill items such as; to-go boxes, lids, cups, etc. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and sanitation practices. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Experience with meal planning, serving, and basic kitchen operations is preferred. Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents' well-being. Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide responsibilities is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
