Responsibilities Prepare and assemble meals in accordance with prescribed dietary plans and safety standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to produce high-quality food items Adhere to strict food handling, sanitation, and cleaning protocols to ensure food safety and workplace hygiene Assist with meal service, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining excellent customer service standards Follow proper manual handling and safe lifting practices when moving supplies or heavy items Support the dietary department by managing inventory, labeling ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen area Collaborate with healthcare staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions for geriatric or medically fragile residents Requirements Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or food industry settings is highly preferred Knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and nutrition principles Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and adhering to food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods Ability to work with geriatric patients and understand their unique dietary requirements Certification in CPR and knowledge of workplace safety protocols are advantageous Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts Join us to make a positive impact through nourishing meals and compassionate service!
