Job Description

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Primary duties include providing menus to all patients, assist patients as needed and correcting the menus accurately against the medical nutrition standards. Provides excellent customer service. Delivers meals, late trays and nourishments to all patients. Stocks, maintains and cleans patient kitchens following Serve Safe standards. Provides guidance and care to patients and their families to achieve a high level of patient satisfaction. Works within regulatory, safety and sanitation standards at all times.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
(Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Minimum of one year of previous experience in customer service is required. 2 Years of food service required. Previous experience working in a clinical setting with therapeutic diets strongly preferred.
Education and Training:
Successful completion of an accredited college level therapeutic nutrition course preferred. Medical nutrition curriculum and ability to apply knowledge to correct menus and provide information to patients and families is required. Ability to read, write and speak English in an easy to understand manner. Ability to learn and work with menu management computer system required.
License, Certification & Registration:
ADA registration as a diet technician or DMA certification is preferred.
Other Requirements:
Proven excellent customer service skills are required. Proven ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people in a customer service setting. Ability to learn and accurately apply therapeutic diets and nutrition information. Ability to effectively and successfully handle multiple tasks and responsibilities without any reminders.
