Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious, delicious meals to our residents while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment. Duties Prepare and serve meals that meet dietary requirements, ensuring proper portioning and presentation for residents with diverse nutritional needs Assist in food production, including cooking, baking, and assembling meals in accordance with established recipes and safety standards Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food handling surfaces following food safety protocols such as JCAHO standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, dishwashers, and serving utensils while adhering to safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks Support dietary department operations by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and assisting with meal delivery or tray setup for residents Follow proper manual handling techniques to prevent injury during food prep or movement of supplies Adhere strictly to workplace safety guidelines and PPE use to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents alike Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and sanitation practices Familiarity with dietary requirements specific to geriatric patients or individuals with special nutritional needs Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong time management skills to coordinate meal prep and service within scheduled times Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and dietary team members to meet residents' nutritional goals Basic math skills for accurate portioning and inventory management Join us in making a meaningful difference through nourishing meals and compassionate service!
