Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutritional care to our residents. In this energetic position, you will assist with meal service, food preparation, and maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. Responsibilities Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards. Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring proper portioning and presentation. Follow strict food handling procedures, sanitation protocols, and workplace safety guidelines to maintain a clean kitchen environment. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashing machines. Support the dietary department by adhering to all food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards and sanitation practices. Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy trays or supplies using safe lifting practices while maintaining proper manual handling techniques. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to accommodate special dietary needs of geriatric or hospitalized patients. Skills Previous assisted living or nursing home experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with working with geriatric patients. Food industry or culinary experience that includes food preparation, serving, and food safety procedures. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy meal times. Knowledge of dietary requirements, nutrition principles, and dietetics related to elderly or hospitalized populations. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining high standards of sanitation and cleanliness. Excellent customer service skills combined with respectful communication when interacting with residents or team members. Basic math skills for portioning, inventory checks, and meal planning calculations; CPR certification is a plus for emergency preparedness. Join us in making a difference through nourishing care!
