Description:
ElderCare of Bemidji / Havenwood Care Center is looking to add dedicated, reliable, and compassionate people to our team! We are currently accepting applications for the following position: Dietary Manager As the Certified Dietary Manager, you will be tasked in managing the Dietary Department in providing quality food and nutritional service to residents. The Dietary Manager provides supervision and leadership to all dietary personnel to assure that services are provided in a consistent quality manner. Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and directing all functions of the dietary department are essential to this position.
Duties:
Maintains proper inventory of food and supplies. Processes diet changes. Observes dining room. Establishes cleaning procedures for department. Hires, counsels, and disciplines dietary personnel. Visits residents to evaluate food service. Develops a food and nutritional history, explain diet requirement, determine likes and dislikes, assists in planning special meals, banquets, etc. Creates the employee work schedule, Finds replacements for staff as needed when they call in for a shift.
Requirements:
Possess a broad knowledge of dietary procedures and current regulations and/or willingness to learn. Ability to lead and willingness to cooperate with management, staff and residents/families. Ability to manage and supervise fellow employees. Preference given for prior experience in a management position in a culinary setting. Preference given for prior commercial cooking experience. This position requires management and leadership qualities with a basic understanding of budgeting, food purchasing and menu planning. Strong clear communication is a must as well as a commitment to improving the knowledge and skill of dietary services to the elderly people that reside in our communities. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background check, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Hours of Work:
Full-Time, hourly position, with on-call. Hours may vary. Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification, or willingness to pursue it.
