Fairview Care Center is currently looking for a Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team! We offer a generous PTO package! Position is 72 hours per two week pay period. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older to apply.

Job Purpose:

Assists in the preparation and service of food. Performs a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain the kitchen, storage and dining rooms in accordance with state health and sanitation regulations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain effective channels of communication and cooperation with other staff and departments to assure that resident services proceed smoothly and a harmonious work environment is sustained.
• Assist in food preparation, tray service, portioning and assembling food and beverages as assigned in a timely manner.
• Transport food carts to and from assisted dining room, set up, serve and clear dining rooms.
• Performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks including, but not limited to: washing dishes, pots and pans; sweeping and washing floors; cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas and equipment; disposal of kitchen garbage.
• Maintain the sanitation and safety practices and hazards associated with the dietary aide/dishwasher position.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings, in service education and other meetings as assigned.
• Performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks including, but not limited to: washing dishes, pots and pans; sweeping and washing floors; cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas and equipment; disposal of kitchen garbage.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Various other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Ability to work harmoniously with all staff and resident and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to prepare hot and cold foods and adjust recipes to quantities required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess at least a tenth grade education. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be at least 16 years of age. Must complete a MN Department of Human Services Criminal Background Check and be certified by the Department as employable as a Nursing Home Employee. Any offer of employment is conditional until receipt of the Background Study Clearance.
