Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide, where you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, appealing meals and exceptional service to our residents. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on enhancing the well-being of our residents through quality food service and compassionate care. You will assist with meal preparation, food handling, sanitation, and ensuring adherence to dietary requirements, all while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Duties Assist in preparing and serving meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food production and meal service Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces Handle food with proper safety procedures, including proper manual handling and heavy lifting techniques Support with food inventory management, restocking supplies, and proper food handling practices Ensure adherence to all workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices Work closely with nursing staff and dietary department team members to meet the nutritional needs of residents, especially those with specific dietary requirements Requirements Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable Knowledge of food preparation, service, sanitation, and food safety standards such as JCAHO guidelines Ability to work efficiently with time management skills in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and basic math skills for portioning and measurements Experience working with geriatric patients or in dietary departments is preferred Strong understanding of nutrition principles and adhering to dietary restrictions or special diets Certification in CPR and knowledge of workplace safety regulations are advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation Join us as a Dietary Aide where your dedication helps create a warm, nourishing environment for our residents.
