In this vital role, you will assist in preparing, serving, and ensuring the safety and sanitation of food in a compassionate environment that prioritizes the well-being of our residents. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where residents feel cared for and valued. Duties Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements, adhering to specific dietary plans and restrictions Assist with food production, including chopping, portioning, and plating meals efficiently and accurately Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces in compliance with health regulations such as JCAHO standards Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, refrigerators, and dishwashers, following proper manual handling procedures Support meal delivery by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and ensuring dining areas are tidy and welcoming Follow food safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and PPE use to prevent contamination or accidents Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or issues promptly Requirements Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and food safety standards such as JCAHO guidelines Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and adhering to safe lifting practices for heavy lifting tasks Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods Ability to work with geriatric patients by understanding their unique nutritional needs and dietary restrictions Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing portion sizes accurately Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward residents and team members Certification in CPR is preferred; knowledge of workplace safety protocols is essential Experience with manual handling, sanitation procedures, and working within dietary department regulations is advantageous Join us in creating a caring environment where nutrition meets compassion!
