Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide/Cook to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, food safety, and customer service within assisted living, nursing home, or hospital environments. As a Dietary Aide/Cook, you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, well-prepared meals that meet residents' dietary needs while maintaining high standards of sanitation and food handling. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our residents through culinary expertise and attentive service. Duties Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines and residents' specific nutritional requirements. Assist with food production, ensuring timely and accurate meal delivery in a fast-paced setting. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, adhering strictly to food safety standards. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning serving areas, and managing food handling responsibilities. Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent contamination or spoilage. Assist with meal planning, portion control, and inventory management to optimize food resources. Collaborate with nursing staff to accommodate special diets and dietary restrictions for residents. Ensure all food service activities comply with sanitation regulations and organizational policies. Skills Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or related healthcare environments. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation. Familiarity with food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy setting. Customer service orientation with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors. Previous dietary aide or kitchen experience within the food industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of dietary restrictions, nutrition principles, and dietetics practices relevant to healthcare settings. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail.
