Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where you'll play a vital role in providing nutritious, delicious meals to our residents while ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming kitchen environment. This energetic position combines food preparation, service, and sanitation duties to support the health and well-being of our residents in nursing home settings. Your culinary skills and attention to safety will help create a positive dining experience that promotes nutrition and comfort for those we serve. Duties Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, ensuring adherence to specific dietary requirements for residents with various health needs. Assist with food production, including cooking, portioning, and plating meals efficiently and accurately. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and dining areas following food safety standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, dishwashers, and other appliances necessary for meal preparation. Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, manual handling procedures, and safe lifting practices to prevent injuries. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and assisting with meal delivery or serving to residents. Follow workplace safety protocols consistently while using personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents alike. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Demonstrated culinary experience with food preparation and cooking skills. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques. Ability to work efficiently within a team while managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of nutrition principles relevant to geriatric patients or similar populations. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and adhering to workplace safety standards. Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward working with elderly or vulnerable populations. Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
