Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious, delicious meals to our residents in a supportive and caring environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine skills with compassionate service, ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our residents. You will be responsible different things based on your daily assignment, it ranges from food preparation, cleaning, serving, dishes, moping, adhering to dietary requirements, and maintaining a safe, sanitized kitchen environment. Your energy and attention to detail will contribute directly to enhancing residents' quality of life through nourishing meals and excellent service. Duties Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed menus, dietary guidelines, and safety standards. Assist with food production tasks such as chopping, portioning, and plating meals efficiently. Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and cleaning procedures to ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, mixers, and refrigeration units. Adhere to dietary requirements for residents with special needs or restrictions, ensuring accurate portioning and presentation. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning workstations, washing dishes, and maintaining sanitation standards Work collaboratively with team members to manage heavy lifting tasks safely and practice proper manual handling techniques. Maintain accurate records of food temperatures, inventory levels, and sanitation logs as required. Provide friendly to residents and staff, creating a warm and welcoming dining experience. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or food service environments is preferred but not required. Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations not required but is helpful. Familiarity with food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and safe lifting practices. Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs is advantageous. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to elderly populations or healthcare settings is a plus. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while adhering to workplace safety policies. Ability to work on a team and be flexible with duties required.
