Job Summary :
Boone County Health Center is seeking a dedicated and friendly Dietary Aide to assist in the preparation and service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality food service, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and delivering excellent customer service. If you have a passion for food service and enjoy helping others, we would love to have you on our team!
Qualifications :
Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and patients. Experience in food preparation and sanitation preferred. Must possess high standards for food quality and service. Must be courteous and customer-focused, providing excellent service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities :
Meal Preparation and Service :
Assists in preparing and serving meals to patients, visitors, and staff based on dietary menus and prescriptions. Ensures that meals are served efficiently and in a timely manner. Assists in preparing requested snacks for patients and staff. Accurately follows menu modifications and ensures meal delivery is according to patient dietary needs.
Food Safety and Sanitation :
Maintains high standards for food preparation, handling, and sanitation. Follows all food safety guidelines and ensures proper food handling throughout the process. Assists with the collection, sorting, and washing of dishes. Takes and records required food temperatures to ensure proper food safety. Cleaning and Maintaining a
Sanitary Work Area :
Completes assigned cleaning duties, including maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas in a sanitary condition. Exhibits good sanitation practices by following approved cleaning routines and procedures. Assists with the proper disposal of refuse and ensures the kitchen area remains tidy and safe.
Customer Service :
Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by assisting with meal requests and ensuring a positive dining experience. Helps patients and staff with special meal needs or questions regarding food service. Assists with point of sale transactions for employees and visitors in the cafeteria or dining areas.
