Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious, delicious meals to our residents while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with residents and staff, supporting their dietary needs and enhancing their overall well-being. Your culinary skills and compassionate approach will help create a positive dining experience for all. Duties Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, ensuring adherence to specific dietary requirements for residents Assist with food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, following all food safety and sanitation standards Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and dining spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation procedures Support the dietary department by managing manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and safe lifting practices Work collaboratively with nursing staff to accommodate special diets and nutritional needs of geriatric patients Follow workplace safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and manual handling techniques Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or food industry settings is highly preferred Culinary experience with food preparation, meal service, and food handling skills Knowledge of food safety standards such as JCAHO regulations and sanitation procedures Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to work well with geriatric patients and understand their unique dietary needs Basic math skills for accurate portioning and inventory management Certification in CPR and adherence to workplace safety guidelines are advantageous Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively is essential Join us in making a meaningful difference through nourishing meals and compassionate service.
